Postponed

Our fishing trip for an Off Trail episode has been postponed – but for a good cause. Sarah Lewis, working out of the Boise area, has taken charge of web design/programming, and as a result, things are really beginning to progress to the point where I don’t feel like I need to slow the process down by being away for two weeks. Alas, this means no steelhead trip – yet – but it also means the site is getting done – which makes me very excited! I appreciate all you faithful readers’ patience in hanging in there.
More good news – I was successful in my draw for a spring bear tag in Eastern Oregon’s Lookout Mountain unit. Now, I’ve never actually seen a bear while hunting elk in this unit, but have heard of a few encounters. We look forward to getting this hunt on camera as well. Oregon does not allow the use of baits or dogs, so it could be a trick, but rest assured, we’ll give it our best shot! If anyone has suggestions on hunting spring bear in Lookout Mountain – or just spring bear hunting tips in general – feel free to leave a comment. I’ll have to confess to being a first time bear hunter, so you can’t break it down too much for me!
