Muskie Fishing

May 16, 2008 by Tom Sorenson

I live in Idaho – so can’t claim this story even if I tried!  However, there has been a plea for more fishing stories on this site, and what with me not having done any fishing lately this was going to be a difficult task.  I couldn’t even muster up a good lie to tell about a fishing trip.  I know, I know, that makes me a terrible fisherman, but I did track down a great story, and that makes me a good hunter!

Tom, great tracking job to find this story.. Wow what impressive fishing..
I am a bit conserned about your hunting though, because the deer on my blog is a whitetail, not a mully (grin, and wink) I took pictures of him all last year and some friends of ours actually collected his sheds,…and you live in the west.. shame, shame.. LOL! Thanks for taking the time to comment.. Have a great week..

Yikes – I’ve got no leg to stand on here! I, Tom Sorenson, co-founder of an outdoor website (knowing animals is my business!) called a whitetail a mule deer! I’m ashamed beyond shame!

I’m going to offer up the flimsy excuse that this was a whitetail that was only visible from the neck up and the antlers were thick in the velvet and difficult to tell. All excuses aside, though – this was a simple mistake of assuming – and you know what they say about what happens when we assume things!
