Big Idaho Bull Elk
by: Tom Sorenson
It was archery season in Idaho when my mom was following my dad with the video camera and got footage of this brute. (the elk is the brute – not my father) Unfortunately, this big bull was safely in another unit Dad was not allowed to hunt by a grand total of about 500 yards – and he was on private property. But, it was a great encounter with a truly beautiful bull. Check out the footage that my mom was able to capture of this American Beauty! Just for the record – that hill those elk so calmly climbed in a hurry is steeper than a cow’s face. How often I’ve wished for the lungs of an elk!

That is a great bull. And some great footage! She must have a pretty nice camera.
That is a dandy bull. Looks like he was huffin’ a bit too! I don’t know why photos and video never can truly convey how steep it is.
Great footage.
What a great bull. And some great footage. I wish I had the lungs of an elk too.
Wow, just once I’d the chance of seeing and possibly harvesting a Bull like that. Echo the lung capacity too!
Very nice video of a great elk scene. I don’t hunt, but, I sure love to view elk and listen to them bugling.
The lungs of an elk are a wonderful thing.
Elk lungs are really not that good. Whitetail deer lungs are much better. Stew them with herbs and root crops.
@EcoRover – I’ll take your word for it! Me, personally, I think I’ll just pass on eating lungs of any critter!
