Scouting in Your Own Backyard
by: suzee
As we were eating our bowl of mush one morning last week, we glanced out the window and had to do a double take! Making their way up the hill behind the barnyard were four deer. Three were bucks… and one a pretty decent fella, if he only had more points sticking off that wide, high frame! I grabbed the video camera and started shooting! You can hear Rufus the rooster making quite a ruckus in the background, but the deer weren’t concerned in the least!… in fact it made me wonder if we should take Rufus along on our next deer hunt… just to keep the deer calm!

Great vid, and the one buck does look pretty good. I think taking the rooster is a great idea. He would be great for covering movement. hehe!
Those are very nice looking deer. We use to have a dog name Rufus.
Can I borrow your backyard??? Looks much better than mine!! Great video!!!
Arthur – all the crowing and scratching in the dirt sure would be great sound cover… if we could just have a little better control over him and keep him from going his own way!
THW- it really was pretty to see those deer jump the fence… so graceful! Rufus is a good name!… nice and short… and some animals just look like a Rufus!
Wendy- I think from looking on your website that you have a pretty nice backyard also…or is it your front yard that has the ocean?!… we do enjoy our backyard… not fancy…but lots of wide open space!
