Video of Sue’s Backyard Deer Hunt
by: suzee
I was fortunate to get some nice footage of this deer. He was feeding along the ditch bank and I watched him come closer … until I realized he was going to give me an opportunity!… I had to just set the camera to one side and concentrate on making the shot. You can hear the shot on the camera! One thing I enjoyed was all the other critters I saw in the mornings and evenings I sat by the fenceline. I saw coyotes, Lots of quail, a large flock of pheasants, and even a vulture!

Wow. Thats awesome. What a great place to live! Congrats to one very capable huntin mom!
Congrats Suzee! Helps to even out for the costs ofthose early season trips Antelope hunting you did. Nothing like hunting in your backyard! And that backstrap sure looked good.
Nice deer, Suzee! And I am totally envious that you can hunt in your back yard.
Awesoem video. I can’t believe you had the composure to get the whole thing on video. I think that the shot was one of the most exciting I have ever watched eventhough I couldn’t see the thing. That was cool how you put the camera down, but we could still hear the bow go off. Thanks for sharing a cool hunt.
Your one in a million women. What a cool video. I thought I could even hear the arrow hit the deer. Your back yard is quite the “wild game haven!” Did Gary get a deer yet?
Way to go gal. This is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote “Backyard Deer Hunting: Converting deer to dinner for pennies per pound.” Check out the book for techniques, inexpensive equipment, sausage recipes and 50 ways to inexpensively cook your deer, hog or bear.
