What are the Odds?
by: Tom Sorenson
My brother shot a coyote the other day (no, he didn’t invite me to come along) and took a picture of it with his cell phone. With no way to get the pics off his phone, he showed me and my cousin, Cody, the pictures off his phone. Over the weekend, Cody was cruising the forums over at Monster Muleys and looking over a thread when he noticed something familiar about a picture of a dead coyote. Yup – someone had stumbled onto Todd’s dead yote, took pics of it, and posted them to the forum below. Small world? Or am I the only one that finds these to be incredible odds?

I find it incredibly odd that neither of you skinned the yote .. looks like a beautiful hide to me.. would make a very nice bow case..
Stacey – As expensive as it is to tan these hides I assume you have a home made way of tanning them. Any chance you can share that with us. Sue has been trying to figure a way to do it as we got deer and elk hides hanging all over waiting to be tanned but we got to get it done before the weather warms.
I’m amazed that coyote was still there after a week. On my walk this morning, the moon being less then a quarter, I just about tripped over a coyote that had been hit on the roadduring the night. By the time I had showered, had my oats and headed off to work, the yote had already been drug off by something hungry.
That is crazy! Definitely a one in a million chance. I guess it really is a small world.

Pretty wild coincidence! The three I shot during deer season, I chunked ‘em in ditches or some other out-of-the-way place. Nice pelts on them but didn’t want to mess w/ skinning them out.
