Eureka Sleeping Bag
by: Tom Sorenson
On a recent camping trip, I finally got to try out the new Eureka Rimfire sleeping bag. The weather was mild, albeit cold for the time of year. It got down to right around 30 at night, and the bag is rated for 15.
Ease of Use:
This one goes without saying – it’s a sleeping bag.
Functionality:
Did what it said it would do. It said it’d keep me warm down to 15 degrees, and at 30 degrees I have no gripes at all. It’s very soft, very roomy so my feet don’t get claustrophobic, and a down right comfortable bag.
Is it Pracitcal:
My only gripe is that it doesn’t roll up very small. You can roll it tightly, but it remains the full width of the sleeping bag, making it somewhat difficult to transport. I was able to get it folded smaller, but judging from the three straps across the toe end of the bag, it doesn’t seem like I’ve rolled it the way it was meant. However, since I was able to get it small, whether it was intended or not, I still give this a high rating.
Will My Buddies Make Fun of Me:
Absolutely not – especially when they’re getting up and stoking the fire during the night.
