End of September (Video)

Archery elk season closed the 30th of September, and once again we feel so fortunate to be able to experience the awe these amazing animals inspire! We could hear them, smell them, see them ….  but to make it happen with a bow escaped us. In spite of often feeling frustrated we look  forward to  the challenge again come next September! Every time you are out there you learn so much… not only about the elusive elk, but also about your own fortitude!

Here’s a short little summary of our last two weeks of archery elk hunting.

“That’s what you’ve got teeth for.”

    Love it! That’s hard core.

Looks like a beautiful season, even if the elk gave you the slip again. At least you were out there, and I’m jealous. No elk season for me again this year, but I’m about to get things all squared away in Texas. As soon as I’m settled, I’m heading back to the high country the first chance I get!

Thinking about hunting Idaho, since I spend so much time in Spokane, WA with my job. It’s a short hop across the state line, and I understand it’s not too hard to get a tag there? What would ya’ll suggest?

Phillip- We sure did have a great time chasing after those crafty elk that seem to escape every time!
You would love hunting Idaho! It does have a lot of opportunities for tags… We aren’t very familar with the northern Idaho area. We live about 5 hours south of Lewiston… you can e-mail Gary at gary@basecamplegends.com… would love to help in any way we can!
