About

Base Camp Legends exists to provide a way for stories of our outdoor heritage to be kept alive for generations to come. We strive to bring outdoorsmen from all over the world together in a down home feel.

Gary Sorenson is the father half of the Father-Son team. An avid outdoorsman from his childhood in Minnesota, Gary brings a wealth of stories, memories, and experience to Base Camp Legends. From ice fishing with his dad on the frozen Minnesota lakes, to hunting blacktail in Western Oregon, mule deer and elk in Eastern Oregon, and finally to his conversion to archery hunting for elk in his present home state of Idaho, he still finds that each experience is better than the last. As the business and finance manager for the company, he feeds off experience from running his own masonry business for thirteen years out of Oregon and his own insurance business in Idaho since 1996.

Tom Sorenson shares his fathers exuberance for the outdoors from growing up hunting pheasants, quail, and chukar in Eastern Oregon as a kid and then learning the ropes of big game hunting in Idaho. Like his father, Tom enjoys the entire experience hunting brings – from the preparation and the camp life to the beauty in the land and the opportunity to match wits with big game. From running the video camera, to editing video, he runs the ‘hands on’ end of things. Mostly self taught, he enjoys the challenges that videography presents and loves the opportunity to write on a daily basis.
